CareSheets & More

Rescue Information I am not a registered reptile rescue. If you have an animal that you can no longer care for, I will take it in and provide for it's basic needs until I can find a home for it. If your animal is sick or beyond my ability to care for, I will do my best to find a qualified home for it, or place it with a larger rescue with the resources to take care of it.
Catsapp's Rescues: Diego.
Diego came to us from a pet store that claimed he was brought in like this. He wasn't, the pet store's owner owned Diego, but loaned him to a friend as a breeder. While Diego was out of sight, the store owner got a little greedy and sold the large tank they were keeping him in. When they got him back, they stuck him in a cage so small (see below) that he was never able to uncurl. There were several rows of large air vents in the top of the cage. When this guy would explore, he would push his face into the holes. He ended up cutting into his face and eyes. In the above picture, you can see his eyes and the rub marks on the front end of his nose and bottom of his chin.
After a few weeks in his new, huge cage, Diego had a perfect shed. I'm happy to say that his eyes look much better. Hopefully in a few months he will shed again and the places where the sharp plastic cut into his face will gradually disappear all together.
* Update * I recently added "branches" (greenery wrapped shower curtain rods) to Diego's cage. He loves to "hang out", and his eyes and head look better with every shed.
